Our Celiac Story

Patrick and Izzy have always bonded over one thing: their love of food. Some of their first dates included going out to fancy restaurants (even in college when they couldn't afford it), and spending hours marveling over different meals and how to recreate them.

When they moved in together and got their own apartment, most of their date nights consisted of spending time in the kitchen: cooking, baking, experimenting. Their evenings were spent curled on the couch watching Top Chef. Their trips included stops at top food spots. Food was and is a core part of their relationship.

In 2025, Patrick went in for routine blood work and came back with confusing results. His ALT and AST levels were extremely high, which meant something in his liver was off. After months of different tests and a biopsy later, Patrick found the cause of his elevated liver enzyme levels: Celiac Disease. Patrick was first in shock, but then started to think of all the symptoms he's had for almost a decade and thought were normal. Patrick's doctor explained how important a gluten-free diet would be: he's spent years destroying his insides, now he needs to rebuild them.

Instead of mourning the loss of all the meals they would never be able to share, Patrick and Izzy have decided to make it their mission to create gluten-free recipes that celebrate their love for good food. Although an obstacle, gluten-free eating doesn't have to mean the loss of delicious food.

Join them as they discover the beauty of gluten-free eats.
